ROGENE CRAVEN
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Rogene Craven on April 10, 2026, at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, at the age of 80.
Left to mourn are her sister Pat (Dennis) Desautels; brothers, Lyle (Fumie) Craven; and Bob (Helen) Craven; nieces and nephews, Kyle, Angela (Amit), Danielle, Brian (Jill), Paul, and Lauren; and grandnieces and grandnephew, Amelie, Arah, and Jack.
She was predeceased by her parents, Beatrice and Duerward Craven, and her twin sister, Karen Craven.
Rogene's biggest love was baseball, and she was an avid New York Yankees fan for 70 years. She always wore a Yankees baseball cap, sometimes more than one at a time, which brought a smile to everyone she met. She also enjoyed bowling and spent time volunteering.
Rogene loved family dinners and treasured time with her nieces and nephews, especially the hugs they gave her. Kind and generous, she was always happy to see friends and family. She will be missed but not forgotten.
A special thank you to the staff at Vista Park Extendicare for their care, compassion, and assistance during her stay.
At her request, cremation has taken place and a family service was held.

My condolences to the family. My family lived next door to the Craven’s when I was growing up on Arlington St. Our family name was Sliwa, I was 7 years younger than Rogene but she shared her love of baseball with me. I can remember her taking me to see my first hardball game. They had a draw for prizes and I won a baseball bat and ball. Rogene was always kind and friendly. - Posted by: Terry Murray (Former neighbour) on: Apr 25, 2026

I was sorry to read of Rogene's passing. I have warm memories from our childhood and of her respect for me when I conducted a family funeral. I belong to the Elm Creek Golf course and often pass by your former home and reminisce. May you find peace in this time of grief from all the love Rogene shared with you. - Posted by: Don W.
